Congratulation parents! You did it. You home schooled your kids for over two months! But, school will be out soon which is another major transition for you and your family. Another change to our world for parents and kiddos alike.

Creating a plan for transitions is still important.  Focusing on what you can control instead of what you can’t is an important way to help your whole family… and so that you won’t go crazy!

These tips will help you transition into summer by providing you and your family with some predictability and structure.

Here are 3 ideas you might want to add to your summer plans:

1. Find child care for a weekly date night or treat yourself night.

You just spent months homeschooling your kiddos, it’s important to take care of yourself!

2. Daily exercise.

If you don’t have or can’t get new exercise equipment check out local apps for slightly used equipment and mix up the routine.  Have you always wanted to learn to skateboard or use a Pogo stick?  Now’s your chance 🙂

3. Make a summer reading list.

Kick it off by reading or watching Is Summer Cancelled Too? book with your kiddos. It will help them process some of their feelings around the major changes these past few months and the changes that might occur this summer. It will help strengthen their mental health and share a few ways to focus on what is controllable.

As re-entry into society begins slowly, stay safe and healthy.  And for all the schedule change and unknown I wish you and your family upcoming consistency.

If you need additional ideas or parenting support don’t hesitate to reach out.  And by all means, don’t parent alone!
