We’d like to reassure you that Kid Matters Counseling operations have been designated by the Governor’s office as an “essential business”, and we continue to be open and actively seeing clients both in-person and online telehealth in an effort to continue to serve the ongoing mental and emotional health of our community.
However, please know we are committed to keeping you and your family safe through minimizing the risk of spreading germs as the novel coronavirus (known as COVID-19) continues to spread.
We will be doing the following to minimize the risk of spreading germs:
- Beginning each session by washing hands or disinfecting hands with hand sanitizer
- Frequently using hand sanitizer during the course of the sessions
- Removing toys from the waiting room
- Sanitizing therapy rooms with disinfectant cleaners
- Adapting activities as feasible to manage the spread of germs
We urge you to do the following:
- Practice good hand hygiene, including frequent and thorough hand washing and proper use of hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your face, including your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then dispose of the tissue and wash your hands
- Consult resources from the CDC and WHO for managing the spread of COVID-19
- Cancel your session if you have any concern that you or your child are sick or may have come in contact with a person who has been contaminated with COVID-19
Kid Matters Counseling IS equipped to offer video online therapy sessions during this time if the ability for in-office appointments is not doable.
Please note: the Parent/Guardian must speak with their therapist about this option in advance of a set appointment in order to ascertain if this is an appropriate alternative for your child. If a session is moved on-line, instructions for the way the session will be conducted will be communicated.
Online and in-person appointments missed without 24-hour notice of cancelation provided to your therapist will still be subject to charge.
Please speak with your therapist if you have any concerns. You can also reach out to the practice using the form at the bottom of this page.
Thank you for letting us serve you and your family.
